What is an optical mount?
An optical mount is used for attaching your sighting system, such as a red dot or scope, to your rifle.
How and why are optical mounts used?
An optic mount generally goes in between the optic and the rifle so the optic sits at the correct height. This is so when you put the rifle to your shoulder the optic lines up with your eye. The AGW Sidewinder takes this mount a step further by allowing you to mount multiple optics or accessories to one mount.
What type of people use optical mounts on their weapons?
Optic mounts are used on all types of firearms by all different types of shooters who would like to mount an optic of some kind to their firearm. Mounts like the AGW Sidewinder are typically used by police, military and competition shooters.
What types of firearms use or can use optical mounts like the AGW Sidewinder?
The AGW Sidewinder was designed specifically for tactical rifles like the AR-15. However, the Sidewinder can be used on all kinds of firearms including shotguns, where extra rail space to mount accessories is an issue.
What types of accessories can be used with the AGW Sidewinder optical mount?
The AGW Sidewinder was designed specifically for mounting two optics to your firearm while keeping both optics on the same axis as the gun barrel. However, the sidewinder can be used with various accessories like weapon lights and lasers.
Is the AGW Sidewinder used in competition shooting?
The AGW Sidewinder was originally designed for competition shooting by competition shooters. It solves the issue of having to mount a second optic in a behind your main optic on a different mount.
What is unique about the AGW Sidewinder?
Our patented AGW Sidewinder allows you to mount two optics right next to each other while keeping both optics on the same plane as the gun barrel. Our design creates a consistency between both optics and proves to be effective.

Can police officers or the military use optical mounts like the AGW Sidewinder?

Yes, Police and Military can benefit from the AGW Sidewinder.  By moving accessories light flashlights to the center of the firearm, you reduce the risk of getting these accessories caught on something like a door frame.  Having these accessories at the center of your firearm ultimately creates a better-balanced weapon that is less front heavy and makes you a faster shooter. 

Who is AGW and when were they founded?

AGW, or Albright Gun Works LLC. was founded in 2015 and operated as a retail gun shop in Hartland, Wisconsin.  Albright Gun Works built hundreds of custom rifles and ultimately designed the AGW Sidewinder.  About us >>
